Alexander Akim, 86, of East Chicago, IN, passed away peacefully at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago.
He was born November 19, 1925 in South Dakota to Louis and Laura (Matusz) Akim.
Survivors include his wife, Joan M. (Gardell) Akim of Highland and many other close family members and friends.
There will be no services and cremation will take place. Midwest Crematory, 678 E. Hupp Road, La Porte (219) 393-3900 is caring for the arrangements.
